Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actor for more than twenty years. Her most famous role is Skyler White on Breaking Bad, an AMC show Breaking Bad, for which she won the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 and 2014 in the category of Outstanding Supporting actress in an Drama Series. The actress has also appeared as Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock in Deadwood. Anna Gunn grew up in Sante Fe New Mexico and was awed by acting during her time at Preparatory School. The late 1970s, the family moved to Ohio. The theatre school she attended was Northwestern University, and spent one semester at British American Drama Academy. Anna started out in Chicago and worked in theater role for several years. After that, she relocated to Hollywood where she started acting in TV shows and films. In 1992 Anna was offered her first big role in the role of Arden in the 29th episode of Down the Shore. After appearing as a Guest Actor in a variety of TV Shows and movies, including Seinfeld as well as NYPD Blue during the 90's and was later cast as Jean Ward as part of The Practice. She was cast as Martha Bullock in Deadwood for two seasons throughout the decade of 2000. Skyler is her Breaking Bad role from 2008. Sully and Deadwood are also a part of her work. Gunn has also appeared on the stage to play in the David Schwimmer's production Sex With Strangers. She was also a part of the four-part podcast audio drama called Numbered Days, which was launched in 2022. The romance with Walter White and his wife Skyler is usually the main focus of the narrative on Breaking Bad with the strained connection between them and the eventual end of their relationship similar to the arc that was Walter White's last years of life.
